Ah ha

Here's my personal layout for MDW. I put this off for awhile. 1. because I had no recent shots of myself and 2. I've never done a page about myself before. Well, I did the my heart mini-album, but I didn't put any pictures of myself in it. The papers are from Basic Grey's Recess collection. How appropriate - my favorite line in a school theme. Oddly, once I actually git started, this page came together easily. I'd never scrapped in 9x9 before, but I like the size. I really should do pages beyond the adventures of Max and Madeline, or they may grow up believing the universe revolves around them (okay, so maybe it does, most of the time).

I had a great "ah ha" moment on Sunday. I realized that many of the issues I've had with this blog, techincally, may not be my fault. I asked Charlotte to help me with my posts, and when I went to my settings on her PC, I discovered a whole array of options that simply do not show up on my Mac. When I post, I get spell check and picture insertion as an option, that's all. There had to be at least ten different options that came up in Windows! I ordered the new Mac OS (I haven't upgraded in about 3 years), so hopefully that will help. In the meantime, Charlotte gave me her laptop to borrow, bless her heart. Maybe this week I can play around with a few options and spruce this space up a bit! At least I feel more confident about my computer skills now.

Boo!

We put up some Halloween decorations after we returned from Disneyland, but we really should have more. The kids are very excited about being Jedi this year (now if I can only finish sewing their costumes), and we've decided to have a Halloween Day tomorrow. We picked up some craft kits at Target, we're making pumpkin shaped cupcakes, and we definitely need to spook up the yard. I do have a few Halloween pieces I've made, and one more on the to-do list from a kit I purchased at Crop for a Cure. I can't wait to "fall back"; I could use that extra hour!

Sleep, what's that?

I LOVE being a design team member for MDW, but I must say I have been working my you know what off for the last few days to prepare some samples for the store and for my first class (yah!). It's like art school, but without the grades and the harsh critiques. So, if you are not busy on Saturday, Nov. 10, I'd love to see you in my paper art hats class. Here are the Creative Imaginations treat boxes I did for the store (definitely want to use these for the holiday table) and a sneak peek at the hats class (we'll be making three). You can sign up for the class at MDW.

Tidbits

Disneyland was fabulous! I'm still sorting through the 256 photographs and putting together a sketchbook/mini-album of the trip, but I thought I'd post just one pic. On this particular day, we had been chosen as the Honorary Family of the Day in Toontown. We were able to go on stage with all of the characters during the Town Hall meeting, and the kids were escorted to Mickey's house to visit him first. The kids were all jumps and shouts about it... until we got on stage. A sea of strange faces looking at them suddenly turned them into shy children! Still, we were all thrilled.

I thought I'd post a picture of our family room art wall. The painting in the middle is Matt's, but the kids have taken over the rest of it. Since the family room is in limbo design wise right now, we've been enjoying adding their creations on the wall. It makes me happy. I suppose I'll have to encorporate some kid gallery space when we redecorate.
