December Bits

'Tis the season to be crazy busy, and this year has to be the craziest by far. Still, we've had some quiet winter moments:
Decorating the tree (the kids did it all this year!) and wrapping the advent Christmas books for an extra special surprise
Catching up with Santa at the Girl Scout Toy Drive
A dinner picnic by the Christmas tree watching Christmas videos
and painting sparkle snow pictures with friends. Just combine 2/3 cup Epsom Salts with 1/3 cup water, and paint on colored paper. It dries to a snowy sparkle! Wishing you a little holiday peace this week.

Christmas Jammies

The matching pajamas, a Christmas tradition. Usually, they are bought, but I scored such a good sale on flannel at Jo Ann's that I decided to make them this year. Well, the pants at least. The tops were Target t-shirts with elf hat appliques. I had accidentally cut the wrong size pattern for Max's pants (fortunately, a larger one ), so his have very generous cuffs and will hopefully last another season or two. Yah, they are that big. That is the nice thing about making it yourself - let down a cuff, add a little more elastic and you have another year out of them. And my, don't they look cute in them?

It's About Time

Why did I think I would post during our crazy time of year? I did, however, complete my JYC art journal (okay, I have two entries to do, but 29 are completed!), the December Daily is complete up to the 23rd, and I actually completed a painting yesterday! I need to photograph all of it, so I will share with you one of my favorite Christmas pictures. It's so our family (and poor little cousin Ben got a big smooch from Molly!).

Tomorrow, I'll introduce you to the newest member of the family (!) and a few more pages from the JYC journal. Or maybe the new sketchbook. Or the painting. I've been busy lately!
